Tues July 2 North Country Stories with Bill Smith - 6:00 pm at the Old Forge Library. Popular storyteller and Balladeer, Bill Smith. delights audiences everywhere. Prepare to laugh your head off at Bill’s tall tales, step back in time with his descriptions of country life in the old days, and get nostalgic when he sings. Thurs July 4 47th Annual Forge Arts & Crafts Fair - 9am - 5pm at the Adirondack Bank's parking lot. View, Old Forge’s arts center, announces the return of the annual Forge Festival of Arts and Crafts, which hosts more than 40 skilled vendors and features an extensive assortment of food and hand crafted items. This year’s event, which is Thursday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is sponsored by Adirondack Bank. The festival will be located at Adirondack Bank’s parking lot at 108 Codling Street, which is right across from the Old Forge Public Beach. Admission to the event is $3. Proceeds will benefit View. Mon July 8 Native Gardens - 7:30pm at VIEW. When flowers and fences collide, how far will you go to protect what’s yours? Native Gardens is a witty comedy by Karen Zacarías that asks us just how much we love our neighbors. Sat & Sun July 27 & 28 45th Annual Old Forge Antiques & Vitage Show & Sale - The Old Forge Antiques and Vintage Show and Sale returns to the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street. This year's show will feature over 50 dealers with an array including antique and vintage furniture, camp decor, oriental rugs, jewelry, hotel china, books, fine art, sporting goods, coins and taxidermy. Mon July 29 The Legend of the Snow Queen - 2pm at VIEW. This performance created by puppet master Matt Sorenson, as part of the family fun series, is a story of friendship, magic, and adventure that celebrates compassion and high epic fantasy. A formidable journey is undertaken by a young girl named Gerda to save her friend Kai, who has vanished mysteriously. Through a chance meeting with a strange old woman and an enchanted sword, Gerda ventures into a magical world. She is allied with a misfit group of creatures who help her to harness the power of her own unique gifts. Mon July 29 Next to Normal - 7:30pm at VIEW.  An American rock musical with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt. The story centers on a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness has on her family. The musical opened on Broadway in 2009 and was nominated for eleven Tony Awards. It also won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, becoming the eighth musical in history to receive the honor.
